Get the most out of every drop. Design and compositing for Shell's pan-European campaign, produced at Stardust Studios for JWT London.
Rather than lead with the product, the brief asked for something more human. Shell FuelSave Euro95 wasn't just a fuel. It was a promise that every drop could carry you further, more cleanly. The campaign needed to show not what the fuel was made of, but what it could make possible in people's everyday lives.

Before the cameras rolled, each scene was visualized as a detailed design frame — a pre-production process that defined the exact position, scale, and quality of the Shell drop in 3D space. The drop itself was modeled and lit in 3D to establish the right refraction and translucency before compositing began.
Building on that foundation, real ink on paper was photographed — varying angle, wetness, and light — to capture an organic watercolor spread. These hand-crafted elements were then composited with live-action footage, with the 3D drop acting as the structural anchor between the graphic and photographic worlds.
